Legal Advocacy

The Legal Advocacy Department of Crisis Center North provides support, information, options counseling and accompaniment for CCN clients as they interact with the police and court system.

CCN Legal Advocates do not providee legal advice or traditional counseling or therapy.

Legal advocates are available to assist victims at the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, Family Division for:

  • PFA petitions and hearings
  • Indirect Criminal Complaint (ICC) hearings
  • custody and support proceedings
  • other court proceedings as needed.

Additionally Legal Advocates accompany clients to:

  • Criminal Court
  • Juvenile Court
  • Magistrate's Courts
  • police facilities and booking centers throughout Allegheny County.

Legal advocates also accompany clients when filing Emergency Protection from Abuse Orders via video conferencing at various hospitals and police departments. Call CCN's Hotline at 412-364-5556 to request this service.
